Far East Inspired Fabrics

Our Far East fabrics are either from Japan or are modern interpretations of Japanese, Chinese and Oriental themes. Some collections are full of bright purples and oranges, some simply indigo and whites and others are decorated with a touch of metallic. Scroll down to take a look at some of our collections. Kimono

A vibrant Japanese inspired collection, with metallic gold detailing on a cream and dramatic black background. Coordinatates feature detailed traditional prints including fans, cranes and kanji designs in rich deep colours.  Why not try Sashiko stitching the hexagon patch or a simple lap quilt using two panels?

We have three gorgeous bag kits in this collection and a quilt kit.

This collection has a soft, Autumnal feel, featuring new friends such as the Water Vole, Dragonflys and a murmuration of Starlings.
The colours are inspired by the special sunsets at that time of year over the water meadow. Although not strictly Japanese inspired, the collection has a very oriental feel.

Spirit of the East Charm Pack

This Charm Pack contains 40, 5" squares of orientally-inspired prints. These are perfect for boarders or small Sashiko sample squares. Please note the image below is simply a guide, as the packs are made from a random selection of Far East themed current stock.

Indigo Summer

Traditional Japanese geometric and floral patterns in the classic indigo and cream colour palette. Put together in a quilt, you'll see the stunning jewel toned, glowing effect of the blues and whites come into play. Top it off with some Sashiko stitching and you've got yourself a stunning, unique Japanese inspired quilt.

Bubble Grid

A more modern take on Japanese geometric prints is Bubble Grid, inspired by origami cranes and using blues, whites and blacks as it's main palette.  If you'd like to see more Blue and White fabric collections click here.

Hyakka

Spectacular Japanese scenery combines to make this impressive collection. Blues and purples are used throughout with touches of metallic gold to add a mystical shimmer.

Japanese Garden

Butterflies, dragonflies, blossom and maple leaf in the colour ways Earth, Air, Fire and Water make up this delicate Japanese garden.

Sashiko

Sashiko embroidery (Pronounced: SA-SHEE-KOE) is a form of embroidery, stitching & quilting originating from Japan. This would be a great way to finish off or embellish your Far East themed project.

You can buy these Sashiko coaster, placemat and other sampler kits here.
