Buttermere Fabric, from The Original Morris & Co.

We are delighted to have ButtermereFabrics, the latest collection of William Morris prints from Free Spirit, instock. “Buttermere” refers to the area of outstanding natural beauty in the Lake District with strong connections to the Arts & Crafts movement. The lovely, bright palette, in a collection of vivid yellows and iconic blues, evokes the wonderful landscapes and interiors found in the area. Morris’s patterns can be found in various influential houses around the area such a “Daisy” in the Beatrix Potter House.

There are some classic Morris designs within the collection: Golden Lily, Willow Boughs, Marigold (also back in stock in other colours), Bellflowers and, of course, Strawberry Thief, in two sizes

 

Fabrics are available by the metre at £15.80/m. We also have a Fat Quarter bundle of all 16 prints and, if you would like to sample the designs, a 5" Charm that contains 32 fabrics, 2 pieces of each design.

We have selection of kits available featuring the Buttermere collection. If you pre-ordered one of these it will be despatched to you shortly, we are just waiting for the quilt patterns to arrive. One or two of each are still available to order at the time of writing. 

The fifth kit, Entangled Round-About, designed by Linda McGibbon, is cut and packed by Free Spirit. This should be with us in about 4 weeks and is available to pre-order. The kit includes all the fabrics required to complete the quilt top and binding, pattern and link for joining an exclusive Facebook group offering tips, advice and encouragement as you create your quilt.
