Tilda Wallflower Fabrics
Wallflower is an ornamental collection loosely inspired by designer Tone Finnanger’s romantic take on design styles popular in the 1960s and 70s. Given the state of the world at the time and the inspiration behind the fabrics, Tone has chosen to promote some good thoughts through the naive but heartfelt Peace and Love quilts. The era also inspired her cute Campervan quilt designs where buttons are used as decoration on the wheels, and, of course, a whimsical flower quilt is a must. The inspiration photographs are courtesy of Tilda and free patterns for these projects can be found at tildasworld.com
The 20 piece collection, above left, has two distinctive colour stories. One is sweet and fresh with vintage reds, greens and pinks with hints of blue and sour yellow. The other is more of a nod to the 1960s and 70s, with caramel, blue, ginger, ochre and thistle tones. Tilda have also released a pretty Bellflower blender print, available in 12 colours. Fabrics are £15/m.
We have lots of pre-cut options. There are four, five piece Fat Quarter bundles in the Red, Green, Blue and Caramel colourways (£18.95 each) or buy the complete 20 piece collection for £74.95. The Bellflower blenders are divided into to groups of six Fat Quarters (£22.95 each). The Whisper pack (below) coordinates the Blue and Caramel Wallflower fabrics and Meadow pack with the Reds and Greens.
The Wallflower 2½” Strip Roll contains two each of the 20 Wallflower fabrics (£59.95). The 5" Charm and 10" are slightly different - they include a piece of all the Wallflower and all the Bellflower designs (32 fabrics in total) for £11.95 and £38.50 respectively.
